Commission Suspends Medical License of Dr. Janaki Earla

MONTGOMERY –The Alabama Medical Licensure Commission voted today in favor of a petition filed by the Board of Medical Examiners to immediately suspend the medical license of Dr. Janaki Earla.

Dr. Earla was arrested by the Blount County Sheriff’s Office last week on a charge of first-degree human trafficking of a minor.

The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners is the state regulatory and law enforcement agency responsible for regulating the practice of medicine in Alabama. The Medical Licensure Commission met on Friday in an emergency session to consider the petition and suspend Dr. Earla’s medical license.
