The Alabama Board of Nursing (ABN) continues to respond to and recover from the cybersecurity event that disrupted Board services beginning September 1. We recognize the negative impact this disruption is creating and are diligently seeking alternative licensure pathways that will not impose a risk to patients.

A process using paper applications and external primary source reviews will begin on September 14. Currently, the priority will be on applications for initial advanced practice approval, reinstatements, and collaborations that were in progress at the time of the outage.

Should you need to modify an existing collaboration or terminate a collaboration, we are asking that you hold that information until the licensing system is again operational. We will continue to provide updates on the ABN website. Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented event.
